Keeping nutrition and exercise in balance.
Eating habits have changed. A new balance between nutrition and exercise must be found. Mars is actively engaged in areas where the balance has been upset and information is needed. Our activities range from our own associates to the consumers of our chocolate products. As we believe that all parts of society must contribute to this effort, we co-operate with public authorities, scientists and associations.
Our commitment focuses on four areas:
- Through product development we satisfy the different wishes and needs of consumers. This requires a varied portfolio: not one product for all, but the right product for everyone.
- Through consumer information we supply consumers, and especially parents, with know-how that contributes to a balanced nutrition and an active lifestyle.
- This is also where responsible marketing sets in. In 2008 we made a voluntary commitment not to direct any marketing or advertising activities at children under twelve years of age.
- By supporting exercise initiatives we want to help consumers to implement an active lifestyle.
