2040: Sustainability in one generation

From some one hundred years of Mars corporate history we know that, in order to be successful, we need to also make a positive contribution to our site communities and to the environment. So we carefully evaluate all potential risks and invest in sustainable solutions and projects. We acknowledge that over the next decades, humanity will have to  reduce its ecological footprint dramatically, and we work at full speed on further improvements within our own business.

For the year 2040, in one generation from today, we have set ourselves an ambitious goal: reducing our ecological footprint with regard to CO2, waste and sewage to zero.

This requires substantial investments, especially in renewable energies, but also in the further optimisation of our whole logistics chain. Moreover such a goal can only be reached step-by-step, using technological advances.

We already started with the first steps. Our short-term objective in Austria: 10 % less energy consumption until the end of 2012.
