MARS Petcare is a key actor in the petcare business. On a global level, more than 29 000 associates spread on 98 sites (including 64 manufacturing sites) are working in this business.

MARS Petcare’s brands –  Pedigree®, Nutro®, Cesar®, Frolic®, Whiskas®, Sheba®, Kitekat®, Perfect Fit® – aim primarily to meet the nutritional needs of cats and dogs, while pleasing their palates. To do so, MARS Petcare relies on the unique expertise of the Waltham research center, recognized throughout the world as a global scientific reference on pet nutrition and well being. In the US, we also manage a network of veterinary clinics called Banfield.

For a long time, we have been engaged in significant programmes related to animal welfare and responsible pet ownership.

In France, the "They Go With Us" campaign sponsored by Pedigree® and Whiskas®  in partnership with the veterinary profession aims to prevent holiday-time abandonment in France. And through the "Acting for Adoption" campaign, in partnership with NGO 30 Millions d’Amis, Pedigree® encourages the adoption of dogs in shelters…
 
MARS Petcare supports research into human-animal relations and the benefits of pet ownership. In 1977, MARS Petcare created AFIRAC (the French association for information and research on pets). The company supports many NGOs in France, such as Handi'Chiens, which trains assistance dogs for disabled people and avalanche dogs.
 
From 45 years in France, Mars Petcare France is based in Saint-Denis-de-l’Hôtel, near Orleans, and has two plants – one at the head office and one in Alsace (Ernolsheim-sur-Bruche). The business has 856 associates.
