As Mars Associates will tell you, it feels good to make brands that consumers love and value.
Equally important and rewarding is being a part of a team that strives to bring The Five Principles to life in the work we do. “Quality, Responsibility, Mutuality, Efficiency and Freedom” are not just words on our office walls. They are a call to action for each of us to do our best every day. While we have a tremendously diverse organization — these principles unite us across cultures, geographies and generations.
As you click through our website, you’ll see that collaboration and partnership are themes of how we work. We want to create “win-win” opportunities for Associates, consumers, customers, our communities and partners in our value chain. We want to preserve the natural resources we all share. On this site, we’ll introduce you to some of the communities where we live and work, and the Associates that are giving their time and talent to give back to these communities. You’ll hear "Martians," as we are sometimes known, share personal stories of what being a part of Mars means to them.
I’m honored to have been with this company for 28 years and to help build on the legacy of the generations that have come before us, for the benefit of those that will come after us. More than 70 years ago, Forrest E. Mars, Sr. described our business objective as "creating mutual benefits for Mars and its stakeholders through the manufacturing and distribution of our products". Today, that objective includes leaning into subjects from climate change to health and wellbeing; from global food safety and security to sustainable agriculture.
Our team of Mars Associates — from Baby Boomers to Millennials to Generation Z — takes this legacy, and our responsibility in the world very seriously. We are proud to be a growing, family business with tremendous brands. And, we are dedicated to continuing to deliver growth we are proud of for generations to come.
