In light of massive destruction following recent bushfires in Australia, Mars Australia announced today it will donate $120,000 to help with relief efforts. The funds, along with additional product donations, will be directed to local organizations to assist individuals and families as they recover from the disaster.

“This terrible tragedy has directly affected our company and our associates,” said Duncan Hall. “Mars is committed to providing financial and in-kind donations to organizations involved in the relief efforts.”

The company’s petcare operations are located in close proximity to fires in N.E. Victoria. For this reason, Mars Australia will donate $80,000 to animal welfare organizations directly involved in helping people with pets. Additional donations of $20,000 each will be made to the Red Cross and to Wildlife Victoria.

The company will also coordinate initiatives at each of its Australian sites to organize donations of food, pet food, clothing, as well as blood donations and additional fund raising.
