Key facts

  • Goal is to ensure future supplies of cocoa and a responsible approach to its production

Mars is committed to the long-term sustainability of the communities that supply us with cocoa

The iMPACT program (Mars Partnership for African Cocoa Communities of Tomorrow) is a unique partnership aimed at addressing some of the challenges facing those communities. What is different about iMPACT is its holistic and collaborative approach – Mars is working with a variety of partners, including the Rainforest Alliance, Africare, ICI (International Cocoa Initiative), IFESH (International Foundation for Education and Self Help), GTZ (German Technical Corporation), STCP (Sustainable Tree Crops Program), national and local governments, and local communities, to address a variety of development needs in communities, ranging from education to basic sanitation to farmer field schools. Ultimately, our goal is to ensure future supplies of cocoa and a responsible approach to its production so that the communities in which it is produced can thrive.
