- In 2009, Mars to expand program.
“Responsibility” at Mars has always been a priority for the business and our associates. As a business, we demand total responsibility from ourselves; as associates, we have the opportunity to help achieve our corporate responsibility priorities. Our Mars Ambassador Program (MAP) allows associates to connect and contribute in personal and meaningful ways to the people and communities that support our business. In 2008, Mars Chocolate associates supported cocoa community development projects in Ecuador, Ghana and the Philippines. These projects not only helped address immediate needs, like increasing access to healthy food and nutrition education, but they also served to strengthen the long-term social and economic vitality of the communities from which we source our products. In 2009, we will expand our program to include associates from all of our business segments in line with their corporate responsibility priorities.
The Mars Ambassador Program is just one example of how our associates are living out the “responsibility” principle, stepping up, changing lives and building a better, stronger company and world around us.
