The PEDIGREE® Adoption Drive® Evolves into Full-Fledged Foundation

At Mars Petcare, we believe it is our role to represent pets. We do this in our daily work, providing healthy food to pets around the world. We also do this through initiatives including The PEDIGREE® Adoption Drive®.

The PEDIGREE® Adoption Drive®, which began in 2005, helps find homes for the millions of dogs that end up in shelters each year. The program raises money for shelters, provides information for people wishing to adopt a dog and helps connect people with local shelters to adopt or volunteer.

The Adoption Drive began in the United States and has since expanded to 28 other markets around the world, including Australia and Germany. It is promoted each year at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in New York City to help raise funds for homeless dogs. After six years, the program has become a core part of the brand’s identity and has helped the PEDIGREE® brand forge a closer relationship with consumers, demonstrating our passion and love for all dogs.

The success of the Adoption Drive led to the creation of the PEDIGREE Foundation in 2008. Since then, the Foundation has served its mission by awarding grants of more than $3 million to thousands of shelters and rescue groups in the U.S.  Through an Advisory Council, the Foundation shares best practices so that all shelters have an opportunity to receive funding. We promote responsible dog ownership and encourage Associates to “Adopt, Volunteer and Donate.”
