Mars, Incorporated sponsors Nobel Laureate documentary series

Mars has sponsored the production of five documentaries by Nature Publishing Group (NPG) on the 2012 Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings. The documentaries were filmed during the Lindau week and have just been launched on Nature.com – one of the most popular global science websites – throughout September and October 2012.

As part of this sponsorship, NPG created a film on Mars science featuring the views of Harold Schmitz, Chief Science Officer, and Ralph Jerome, VP Corporate Innovation. The film focuses on the role of collaboration between industry, academic, government and non-government sectors in driving scientific discovery. The film also features Chemistry Nobel Laureate Dudley Herschbach who shared his insights into the importance of scientific partnerships in front of an audience of 150 young researchers during a Mars-hosted panel discussion that took place during the Lindau Meetings in Germany.

The Mars film is available to view here.

The Lindau Meetings are a globally-recognized forum that has been bringing Nobel prizewinners and the world’s most promising young scientists together since 1951.Mars has been a key supporter of the Lindau Meetings since 2007. In 2008, Pamela Mars was appointed to the Honorary Senate of the Lindau Foundation in recognition of Mars’ history of scientific achievement and commitment to scientific dialogue.
