A year at Mars
We think it would be unfair to limit our opportunities to graduates and final year students. So if you’re in your penultimate year at university and you’re looking to get some real experience, make some real decisions and watch the real consequences, then we may have something for you too.
Our 12-month placements are specifically designed for those students who have a compulsory year in industry. As well as providing a unique window into what it’s like to work in a £ multi-billion international organisation, they’ll give you the chance to put the academic theories you’ve been mastering at university into practice.
We’re not talking about role-playing or shadowing here. which ever area of our business you join, you’ll be a member of the Mars team and you’ll be treated as such. This means facing up to challenges, meeting tough deadlines, justifying expenditure and securing collaboration from senior colleagues.
You’ll have to show us what you’re made of, but at the same time, you’ll receive really intelligent support. A manager will be appointed to lead and mentor you, and our strong team ethos means there’ll always be people around to provide support, encouragement and practical help when you need it.
Is this for you?
These placements are big challenges. You’ll take on real responsibility, and make a positive contribution to the business. We’re looking for exceptional academic ability, the confidence and flair to motivate others, and good teamwork skills. Ultimately, we want people who have the potential to progress in the future. The benefits of our experience.
As well as your weekly wage, we'll reimburse your interview travel expenses and help you find accommodation during your placement. However, the biggest benefit of the scheme won't be obvious for another year or so. Because by the time you come to consider your career choices, you'll not only have a good degree, but also you’ll already have real commercial experience under your belt - and that will commend you to the many employers who value the Mars experience. Of course, it could well be that you're so impressed with us - and we with you - that you’ll choose to start your career right here. And if that’s the case, great.
