We at MARS Hungary deeply believe that we form an integral part of the communities where we operate. This is most visible in Csongrád-Bokros, where our factory employs a large number of the inhabitants of Csongrád-Bokros village and the surrounding settlements. The priorities for our community relations activities are the inhabitants of Csongrád-Bokros (appx. 1000 people), children, old-aged people, sport and health programs. Both our sponsoring and donation strategies are defined upon these priorities.
We strive to be a good corporate citizen of the village and have a living, pro-active and interactive relationship with the people. Our responsibility covers our commitment to provide employment opportunities, to operate with minimal burden to the environment and to the inhabitants of the surrounding areas, support the community organisations – such as the schools – sponsor sporting and other activities and events and be open to any initiatives of the settlement.
Inhabitants of the village are invited to the yearly “Associates’ Day” where they have an opportunity to participate in health screenings, education on different issues such as selective waste management and have a fun day with food, drinks and a concert. MARS Hungary donates a Santa Claus package – candies – to every child in Csongrád and Csongrád-Bokros and we support Children Day activities as well as school events. We support the Pensioners Club of Csongrád-Bokros to organize a trip to any Hungarian location once a year and we also support the yearly trip for all the students and teachers of the local elementary school.
We support the local health and sport programs and co-operate with the local authority in sponsoring 10 programs a year within the framework of the “regional leisure sport programs. “ There are various other individual projects that we support with priority on sport, health and culture to a certain extent. These projects in the past years included activities such as the renovation of the doctor’s office, the painting of the fence of the ambulance station, the renovation of the garden of the day-care etc.
We believe that our relationship with the community of Csongrád-Bokros is outstanding and we will continue this fruitful co-operation in the years to come.
