Throughout the entire supply chain we have possibilities to contribute to a good working and living environment, starting with the purchasing of raw materials and ending in a responsible consumption of our products. But together with our suppliers and customers we can make a difference in production and logistics too. Also our associates play an important part in this. They are being given the freedom to take initiatives that have a positive effect on people and the environment. In every area, we focus on specific factors in order to achieve the biggest result. By doing so, we sustainabilize our company in an efficient way, of course always maintaining and improving the quality of our products.

Five principles as a guideline for sustainable entrepreneurship
Mars’ philosophy is based on five principles; quality, responsibility, mutuality, efficiency and freedom. These are guiding us in the daily choices we make and the manner in which we do business. Every day we are trying to make a difference and to enhance the sustainabilization of the supply chain.

Today’s organisation
Within Mars, the Global Sustainability Leadership Team coordinates everything on a worldwide level that relates to sustainable entrepreneurship. This team is constantly looking for opportunities to make improvements, but at the same time there is freedom to take initiative on a local level. This approach enables Mars the Netherlands to include social responsible entrepreneurship into the daily business.
