Your line manager will sit down regularly with you, and together you will identify where you can work to enhance your performance both in your current role, and for future moves. This will form the basis of your Development Plan. And this won’t be a purely theoretical learning through courses and books. We know our people learn best through supported doing (as well as some basic theory). As Ken Blanchard of “The One Minute Manager” fame says, “Perfect practice makes perfect” so you will identify the experts and coaches who can help you master your performance as well.
