In the Great Place to Work employee survey, the Zug-based company Mars Schweiz secured fifth place in the ‘mid-sized businesses’ category. That makes the firm one of the best employers in Switzerland – and thus the Zug region – for 2015.
There’s a sense of satisfaction and pride at the Swiss branches of Mars, Royal Canin and Wrigley: in their first joint entry in the 2015 Great Place to Work staff survey, the Mars companies secured fifth place in the category for businesses with 50-249 employees. “We are delighted with the result, which proves that our employees are responding extremely well to the very special corporate culture of Mars in Switzerland,” explains Jorg Oostdam, General Manager at Mars Schweiz.
94% of employees love their workplace
Openness, flat hierarchies and a distinct team spirit combined to earn Mars, Royal Canin and Wrigley their joint high rating. An extraordinary 94% of all employees described their workplace as a ‘great place to work’ – confirming Mars Schweiz as number one among the FMCG companies taking part in the GPTW poll. The company climbed three places on last year to secure its first top five placing.
Global success of Mars confirmed in internationally recognised study
Great Place to Work (GPTW), the renowned research and consultancy institute, carried out the employer study in Switzerland for the seventh time. In anonymous questionnaires, employees of the participating organisations were asked to rate their job satisfaction in three areas: relations with senior managers, their attitudes to their own job and their relations with colleagues. In 2014, Mars companies in more than 20 countries gained mentions in Great Place to Work and other leading workplace surveys.
