In the 1940s the chocolate products MARS®, MILKY WAY® and TREETS® were sold for the first time in Switzerland.

And UNCLE BEN’S® revolutionised the Swiss rice market in the year 1959.

At a time when industrially produced pet food was virtually unheard of in Switzerland, in the early 1960s WHISKAS® and PAL® (PEDIGREE®) were pioneers on the Swiss market.

As a result of the constantly growing demand and the success of the three product groups chocolate, food and petcare, in 1967 the Swiss marketing company Mars Switzerland Ltd (then called Effems Ltd) was founded in Zug. Today a staff of 107 associates generate a turnover of 294 million Swiss francs, 45% from petcare products, 42% from chocolate and 13% from food products.

Wrigley and its chewing gum segment representing well-known brands such as WRIGLEY'S EXTRA®, ORBIT® and AIRWAVES® has also been part of Mars, Incorporated since October 2008.
