Can I eat any of your products after the 'best before date' has expired?
Never eat any of our products after the 'best before date' has expired, as we can't guarantee they will be in premium condition.
Can any of your products be re-heated?
All of the jar sauces in the Dolmio, Uncle Ben's and Seeds of Change ranges can be re-heated within 3 days after opening, providing they have been stored in a refrigerator and heated above 65 degrees centigrade.
None of our Uncle Ben's Express Rice pouches should be stored and then re-heated. After the initial heating, the rice should not be re-heated again.
All of our Uncle Ben's boxed and Boil-in-the-bag Rice can be re-heated after cooking. The rice should be cooled down quickly and then stored in the refrigerator for up to 1 day.
How should your products be stored?
All of the jar sauces in the Dolmio, Uncle Ben's and Seeds of Change ranges can be stored in a refrigerator for up to 3 days after opening.
All of our Uncle Ben's Express Rice pouches should be stored in a cool dry place. Once opened they can be stored in a refrigerator unheated for up to 3 days.
All of our Uncle Ben's boxed and Boil-in-the-bag Rice can be stored in a dry place and kept at room temperature.
Can any of your products be frozen?
All of the jar sauces in the Dolmio, Uncle Ben's and Seeds of Change ranges are suitable for freeezing, however any sauce should be transferred to a suitable container immediately upon opening and can be kept frozen for up to 1 month before use. Sometimes there can be separation of the sauce when drefrosted, but once heated the sauce will thicken and be suitable for use.
None of our Uncle Ben's Express Rice pouches should be frozen after being heated.
All of our Uncle Ben's boxed and Boil-in-the-bag Rice can be frozen once it has been cooked. However it shouldn't be frozen if it has already been cooked and re-heated.
Can your products be eaten cold?
All of the jar sauces in the Dolmio, Uncle Ben's and Seeds of Change ranges can be consumed without heating, however the sauce could taste differently, as the recipe is developed for eating hot.
All of our Uncle Ben's Express Rice pouches can be eaten without heating the product, although the quality would improve if heated for a minimum of 30 seconds, to break the rice starch down.
All of our Uncle Ben's boxed and Boil-in-the-bag Rice can be consumed cold once it has been cooked.
