Wrigley participated in the II Annual Investment Forum in St. Petersburg

Wrigley (Mars, Incorporated), one of the world’s largest producers of chewing gum and confections, attended the II Annual Investment Forum in Saint Petersburg on October 26–27.

The plenary session “A global city and its role in the global economy. Investments in technology, talent and creativity” was one of the momentous events of the Forum. Experts discussed the most urgent issues concerning investment activity in Saint Petersburg, ways to make the city’s economy competitive on a global stage, and prerequisites for project localization.

Wrigley (subsidiary of Mars) is one of the longest standing investors in Saint Petersburg. We’ve been operating here for 20 years already. Moreover, this year we reaffirmed our commitment to develop local production by signing a new investment agreement worth one billion rubles with the Government of Saint Petersburg. This funding will be used to upgrade production facilities and address environmental issues,” Maher Batrouny, General Manager at Wrigley Russia, said.

The II Annual Investment Forum in Saint Petersburg is a major event dedicated to the city’s investment climate and policy.  The purpose of the Forum is to establish a platform for the dialog between business and government about the investment activity in Saint Petersburg, devise joint measures to improve business climate, discuss city’s initiatives to support investments, and develop effective mechanisms to attract investors.
