CALLING ON FELLOW MARKETERS TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE

While at Cannes, Mars joined with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to announce a new initiative called The Lion’s Share. We feel marketers need to shoulder some of the responsibility to save our planet. That’s why we’re a founding partner for this fund, which will raise money and attention for wildlife conservation and welfare programs, by encouraging companies that use animals in their advertising to give back. The Lion’s Share simply asks marketers to give a small percentage of their media buy and production costs every time they use an animal in an advertisement. Then the UNDP will utilize that money to support animals and their habitats around the world.
