Mars Ambassador Program (MAP) Brings Bright Smiles to Children in Georgia
Adela, Senior Brand Manager for Wrigley Romania, joined six other Mars Ambassadors in the Republic of Georgia for a one-week MAP assignment to lend a hand to a small school in the town of Mtskheta.

Wrigley's on-the-ground partner for this assignment was Save the Children, a non-governmental organization (NGO) that provides programs and services to children in need around the world. The Wrigley Company Foundation has a strong partnership with Save the Children, bringing School Health and Nutrition (SHN) interventions, including oral health education, to school-aged children in six countries in some of the world¹s poorest areas.

The group's assignment consisted of two parts: each morning, ambassadors helped restore the school's gym, which had fallen into disrepair. Each afternoon, they spent time with the middle and high school students, teaching them about healthy lifestyles, including oral care. The team taught oral health basics, like the importance of brushing teeth properly, and developed a fun and interactive way to share essential oral health messages.

"These students are coming from very modest economic means, but prevention of dental problems is inexpensive and easy, so it was very beneficial for them to learn," said Adela. "And even though we didn't speak the same language, we had translators assisting and the children were always attentive, warm and wonderfully appreciative."
