On June 27, 2019, Mars announced that it had signed a definitive agreement to acquire a significant majority stake in foodspring, the direct-to-consumer targeted nutrition company based in Berlin which offers products for consumers with needs around sports performance, healthy living and shape, as well as a leading nutrition and fitness platform.
Since 2011, Mars uses 100% cage-free eggs for all human food products (e.g., confectionery, rice products and sauce) in Europe. In 2016, Mars further committed to using 100% cage-free eggs for all human food products in the US, Canada and Australia by 2020.
We are on track to meet this commitment in the US and Canada. However, due to challenges in the marketplace, we will achieve 100% cage-free eggs in Australia by 2025.
CHICAGO, IL (July 25, 2019) — Mars Wrigley announced today that Cathryn Sleight is appointed President of Business Development, effective August 5, 2019. In this role, Sleight will lead the segment’s Business Development team to pursue new global treating and snacking growth opportunities. She will report to Mars Wrigley Global President Andrew Clarke. Sleight replaces Keith Levy who departed the business in May.
