Mars Impact Fund Awards €1.5M Grant to Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings to Advance the Next Generation of Scientists

  • Mars is advancing its decades-long partnership with the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings by investing in the future pipeline of scientists through the Mars Impact Fund.
  • The grant will commit €1.5M over three years.
  • It will directly support the Fund’s priority of growing and diversifying the pipeline of scientists and veterinary professionals.
  • The investment represents Mars longstanding commitment to scientific research, open collaboration and building a better world for people, pets and the planet.

McLean, VA (June 29, 2026) – Mars, Incorporated today announced it is renewing its partnership with the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings, and awarding the organization a three-year, €1.5M grant through the Mars Impact Fund. The Fund was launched in early 2026 as a dedicated, enterprise-level entity designed to create lasting impact by investing in strategic partnerships. The grant and renewed partnership build on that commitment and advance Mars goal in fostering scientific discovery and supporting the next generation of scientific talent.

The Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings is a scientific forum that annually brings together Nobel Laureates and top young scientists from around the world to discuss the future of scientific discovery and development. While Mars has been a proud partner of the Meetings since 2007, this year marks the first time the collaboration will be expanded through the resources of the Mars Impact Fund.

The Mars Impact Fund grant aims to strengthen access for young scientists who otherwise would be unable to participate in the Lindau Meetings and drive their interest and readiness to pursue scientific careers. Specifically, The Mars Impact Fund grant will support fellowships for 30 young scientists each year to participate in the meeting. The grant also includes support for the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings’ continued high-quality programming that fosters dialogue, collaboration and learning for this young talent.

For nearly two decades, the partnership between Mars and the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings has been built on a shared belief that science advances most powerfully when we connect across generations, disciplines and sectors to address the global challenges of tomorrow. This has enabled hundreds of early-career researchers to participate in the Mars Fellows forum to foster meaningful dialogue and cooperation. Mars has also joined forces with Nobel Laureates and young scientists to host panel discussions on topics ranging from the future of aging research and coral reef restoration to eliminating aflatoxin risks from the global food supply chain.

“One of the pillars of the Mars Impact Fund is our commitment to growing and diversifying the pipeline of global scientists. The work of the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings reflects that purpose, making it a natural fit that we were honored to support further,” said Michelle Grogg, Executive Director of the Mars Impact Fund. “This is a unique and impactful opportunity to support some of the world's most promising young scientists as they experience a week of inspiring dialogue and mentorship with the Lindau Nobel Laureates.”

Mars will celebrate the renewed and growing partnership at the 75th annual Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings this week in Lindau, Germany. With this year’s conference focused on interdisciplinary science, Mars plans to host several events and panel discussions designed to bring together Nobel prize winners and young scientists, reinforcing the importance of curiosity, openness and collaboration in advancing science to build the world we want tomorrow.
