Sustainability Reporting
At Mars, we’re committed to sustainability across our entire value chain, focusing on a future with a healthier planet, thriving people and pets and a more inclusive society. In the Mars Sustainable in a Generation Report, our corporate sustainability report, discover how we integrate sustainability into everything we do to drive critical action and address global challenges. The world we want tomorrow starts with how we do business today.
Our progress to date
We regularly assess our sustainability efforts, build lasting partnerships and strive to not only deliver strong financial performance, but to do that while also delivering on our sustainability commitments.
Rooted in our Five Principles, that have guided our decisions for decades, our vision for sustainability encompasses investing in both people and the planet. We are proud of the progress we’ve made and we also recognize the complexity of the challenges and the need for continued effort and collaboration.
As of 2025:
- Healthy Planet: On the path to net zero by 2050, we have reduced absolute greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 16.9%1 across our full value chain from a 2015 baseline, all while growing our business by approximately 75%.
- Thriving People: We have now reached more than 885,000 people across our value chain through our supplier and origin program since it began in 2017.
- Nourishing Wellbeing: Our Mars Food & Nutrition business has delivered 3.4 billion healthy meals.2
Decoupling Growth from GHG Emissions
In 2025, we achieved our largest annual absolute GHG reduction to date at 6.4%1. We have delivered our Science Based Target to reduce Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHGs, with a 42.6% reduction compared to 2015. We reduced our total GHG emissions by 16.9% since 2015 while growing the business by approximately 75%. Decoupling growth from GHG emissions means ensuring that increases in revenue and portfolio expansion do not result in proportional increases in absolute emissions.
