Our signature awards program, Make the Difference, formally recognizes Associates from around the world who have delivered extraordinary impact, helping bring us closer to our Purpose: the world we want tomorrow starts with how we do business today.
Jonathan Mars, fifth generation Mars family member and Make the Difference co-sponsor, reminded finalists that “our culture is our company’s most unique sustainable advantage.”
This cycle saw 14,000 nominations which advanced to local and regional semi-finals, and our Global Final. 150 Associates, representing 80 extraordinary projects, recently gathered in Washington, D.C., with members of the Mars Family and Mars senior leaders to celebrate and unveil the top 10 global Make the Difference winners.
Office of the President and CEO Poul Weihrauch shared a heartfelt message with Associates that truly captures the spirit of this program: “Hearing story after story of the ingenuity, innovation and integrity of Mars Associates throughout the globe is truly humbling. We simply wouldn’t be the company we are today without all of you – Associates inspired by our Purpose and committed to living the Five Principles in their work through the development of brilliant ideas that help us to best serve our customers, clients and consumers.
