Inspirational At-Home Activities That Help the Planet
On the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day, lessons from the Coronavirus crisis offer hope. The pandemic demonstrates we do have the capacity to act urgently and radically to address the world’s biggest societal threats – including climate change.
We’re inspired by the enormous amount of collaboration from so many people around the world who are taking action by finding creative ways to encourage others, right from their homes.
From displaying rainbow drawings in windows to creating “stay healthy” chalk signs on the sidewalk, there’s a strong sense of community and collective action among us. Continuing in this spirit, we are hoping our Pledge for Planet coloring activity provides you a creative opportunity to engage your families and communities as well as learn something new.
The mural, designed by renowned contemporary artist Steven Harrington, illustrates what the world could look like if we all formulated an urgent climate action plan to keep the planet from warming beyond 1.5 degrees Celsius.
For Mars, it also signifies our commitment to further cut emissions from our operations in line with the key aim of the Paris Agreement – to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius.
