The campaign reinforces our commitment to ending pet homelessness while inviting football (sometimes called “soccer”) fans, spectators and consumers to join in the commitment.
Allianz Park in São Paulo, Brazil recently hosted some extraordinary guests: several very cute pups. At the beginning of the match between Palmeiras and Internacional, dogs from the “Bichos do Gueto” shelter strutted onto the field with the players wearing superhero capes, all part of a campaign to promote responsible pet ownership and adoption with Warner Brother’s latest animated film “DC League of Super-Pets.”
The players, managers and more-than-thirty-eight-thousand fans gave the adoptable dogs a superhero-sized welcome.
“Palmeiras Sportive Society is more than a football club; it is an organization that generates a positive impact on all of society. With that action, we want all of our fans, and also the public, to pay attention to the important issue of pet abandonment,” said Leila Pereira, Palmeiras president.
“Super-Pets” revolves around the love between humans and their pets, and the sometimes difficult realities of animal shelters. The movie premiers globally in theaters on July 29, 2022.
